Stephen McCormack, Mr .R. Stephen McCormack is a general partner and co-founder of Commonwealth Capital. Steve has over 23 years of venture capital and private equity experience. His investment activity has primarily been in early stage technology companies with an emphasis on communications infrastructure and software platforms and tools. Representative investments include Altiga Networks (sold to Cisco), Akibia Group, Accurev, Carbon Design Systems, e-Dialog, i-Logix, Net-2-Net (sold to Visual Networks), StarGen, Tally Systems (sold to Novell), Wavesmith Networks (sold to Ciena), and Viewlogic Systems (sold to Synopsys). Before co-founding Commonwealth Capital, Steve was a senior vice president with 3i Capital where he managed a large portfolio of private equity investments. Prior to 3i, Steve was a partner of Merrill Lynch Venture Capital, the manager of two early stage venture funds. Steve has also held positions at Interactive Data Corporation, Massachusetts Technology Development Corporation, and the Bank of New York. Steve is a graduate of Dartmouth College and The University of Michigan Business School.
